Bringing an airport's history to life

The Brief

Why did our airport move from Paya Lebar to Changi? To mark the 100th anniversary of Lee Kuan Yew’s birth, we were tasked with developing an exhibition – including a six-minute video – at Jewel Changi Airport detailing how Lee’s dreams for Singapore’s international airport took flight in the 1970s.

The Work

Armed with research skills and lots of snacks, we dove headfirst into the nation’s archives – emerging with a gripping narrative of a bold move. From this, we crafted six interactive zones and a mixed media video detailing the shift to Changi, all within two months.

The Results

The exhibition was featured in The Straits Times and in international publications. It also entertained locals and tourists, strengthening the airport’s experiential offerings while consolidating CAG’s remarkable organisational history for future generations.
